We are deeply shocked and saddened by the recent heinous murder of a young doctor in R. G. Kar Medical College, Kolkata, India. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We stand in solidarity with the people of Kolkata and demand a safer and more just society for all. The violence and unrest experienced by those dedicating their lives to care for others is deeply alarming. Hospitals should be safe spaces of healing and education, not battlegrounds for conflict. We must collectively condemn such acts, ensuring justice and the restoration of peace. It is vital that the Healthcare community is supported, their voices heard, and that all necessary measures are taken to protect their dignity and security. 

We demand swift and decisive action from the Supreme Court of India to ensure that justice is served. The perpetrators must be brought to the justice and held accountable for their actions. We also call for greater measures to be taken to ensure the safety and security of citizens, particularly women, in Kolkata, West Bengal and across India. We will be using a petition to reach out to the Honorable President of India, Honorable Chief Justice of India through the Honorable Consulate General of India, NY. We request your kind signature to support this petition.
